Chronic and acute stress are at the root of most physical illness.
Trauma and constant stress are part of everyday life. But many of us are not physically and mentally keeping pace with the effects of the environment we live in. Staying well and living life to it’s fullest depend on each person having skills to relax and restore. If regenerative practices are not part of our lives, physical illness almost certainly ensues. In addition to the stresses we can easily identify, there are also the stress of indoor air pollution, pesticides in our foods, lack of antioxidants in our diets and insults from things that injure our brains.
The consequence of toxic contamination is illness.
The human body is regularly exposed to air-borne and food-borne contaminants, some of which are not readily expelled from the body. When toxic gases, chemicals (cleaning products included), heavy metals, and endocrine disruptors enter the body it is possible for the molecules to encapsulate and become trapped in the tissues. Over time, as toxic contaminants accumulate, they have a dilatory affect on normal body processes. Circulation is more encumbered, critical cell functions are impaired and biochemical processes become dysfunctional.
